Polyester crepe fabric is a type of crepe made from synthetic polyester fibers. Known for its thin, lightweight texture and excellent drape, polyester crepe is commonly used in skirts, blouses, and dresses. While typically thin, this fabric is not necessarily sheer and features a slightly bumpy texture (often subtle to the eye) with a matte finish.
Polyester crepe is easy to care for, as it dries quickly and resists wrinkles, maintaining a fresh, new look over time. It 's not prone to shrink, pill, or fade, contributing to its durability. The fabric should not be wrung or twisted, as this can distort its shape, and it should be kept away from machine drying or direct ironing to avoid heat damage.
For best care, machine wash polyester crepe in 40 degrees. Air drying is recommended to preserve the fabric's integrity and prevent heat-related damage. Despite its durability, polyester crepe can still wrinkle, if this happens, a light ironing may be needed to restore its neat appearance.
