Heavy cotton fabric is known for its durability and sturdiness. This fabric combines the softness and breathability of cotton with the added strength and wrinkle resistance of polyester. It has a substantial weight, making it ideal for garments and items that require a bit more structure
In terms of care, heavy cotton is relatively easy to maintain. We recommend to machine wash the fabric in lukewarm water and to dry the products on a line. To preserve its quality, avoid using high heat, as it can cause shrinkage or damage the fibers.
Ironing on a low setting is recommended if needed. Additionally, turning the fabric inside out before washing can help minimize wear and tear, keeping the fabric looking new for longer.
It's important to note that the fabric may have a bit of stiffness, making it less drapey than lighter fabrics. This quality is useful for creating garments that require more shape and structure. While heavy cotton fabric is durable and can withstand regular use, frequent wear and friction can lead to pilling over time, particularly in high-friction areas like underarms or where a bag might rub.
